Sponge was the first makeup tool that was introduced to me.
Nowadays, foundation application leans toward natural-looking. So here comes the brushes. The common problem that arises regarding using brushes is streakiness. May mga foundation pa naman na mabilis mag-set so you have to work in sections and you gotta work fast.
Ngayon naman pinanganak si Beauty Blender. BB is an egg-shaped sponge that claims to replace all those brushes we use for foundation. Back to basics, sponge became a hit again dressed as a pink egg.
Teneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnn.
I bought this for Php180. Oh well, treynta, pang-gatas na daw. Oh sha-sha move on.
Hot Shop call this their Goddess Make-Up Blender.
Sabi ni ate saleslady, maganda daw itong sponge nila kasi durable at hindi nadudurog.
It seems like a latex kind of sponge. Indeed, it is dense but not scratchy to the face.
It is easy to use. I use this to blend my BB cream. I also used this to swatch the Naturactor concealer also bought at Hot Shop.
Above is the top view of a used Goddess Make-Up Blender. The stain you see is the BB cream. I use the top part of the egg sponge.
Okay, now here comes the cons --- cleaning. I searched online how to clean the Beauty Blender ones, and I came up with using the same baby shampoo I use to clean my brushes. I found it hard to remove the stain made by the Naturactor concealer. I think I squeezed so hard the second time I washed this that I made a small tear less than an inch near the pointed part. After the above pic, I cleaned it again, and the BB cream was also hard to remove. Well, the water I used was cold, and I think warm water does help in removing the stain. I did not want to squeeze so hard so as not to make another injury to the sponge.
Pros:
- cute pink color
- dense sponge
- gentle on the skin
- affordable
Cons:
- hard to clean
- no container to keep the sponge
There you have it. I would update you guys once I find out a better method in cleaning this sponge. I am not giving up yet. Push ko pa ang paggamit nitong sponge.
Nota Bene: This is a non-sponsored post, and I purchased the product for personal review.
