Pet Cleansing Pad as Brush Cleaner

Pet Cleansing Pad as Brush Cleaner

So I thought it would be a good idea to use this pet cleansing pad in deep cleaning my brushes. You know, in the manner the Sigma brush cleaning glove is used.

Purchased this "dog brush" for Php 46.50 only at the Robinsons Supermarket.  Below is the packaging.

Turned out, I wasn't the first one to come up with this idea.  Others use the finer toothed cleansing pad for the face.

The back portion of this pad has a belt-type strap adding stability while cleansing.

Brush Cleaning Procedure:
1.  Wet the pad and pour baby shampoo directly on it.
2.  Also slightly wet the brush to clean before running it onto the pad.  Do not push the brush very hard against the pad.  It is ideal to use light hand to lather the brush.
3.  For bigger brushes, run it throughout the whole pad.
4.  For smaller brushes, use the only side teeth (see photo below).
5.  Rinse the brush against the pad with running water.  It should be easier to wash out suds from the brushes.
6.  Lay your wet brushes on a clean towel.  Make sure the handles are slightly elevated when layed down so as to prevent water seeping into the ferule, which in turn weakens the glue holding the fibers together.

My Thoughts:
* It should not be too abrasive on the brushes when you use light hand.
* It is definitely easier to clean and rinse out brushes using this method.
* Ideal when cleaning massive brush collection.
* Way more economical than buying the Sigma glove.
* Saves water, soap and time.

Thank you for reading.

God bless.  (^_~)
