Ferrero Honey Toast by Sweet Hunt

I discovered honey bread from Caffe Bene, but this post is about the Sweet Hunt's version...The Ferrero Honey Toast.

After fulfilling my voter duty this past 2013 Baranggay Election, I went to the mall to buy some pet stuff.  On my way to Handy Man, I saw a Honey Toast poster by Sweet Hunt near the escalator.  I immediately remembered Caffe Bene's Honey Bread and how there was no Caffe Bene near my area, so I wanted to try this out.  There were four flavors on their poster - Chocolate Moon Night, Mango Fantacy, Tiramisu and Ferrero.  Of course, I was drawn into Ferrero and the price that states Php180.  It is always a plus to put the price of the product in ads so the consumers will not have to ask for it.  Immediately, deciding whether to purchase or not would be the first thing to come in mind...not whether to inquire about the price and then wait for a response and then weigh in if it fits in the budget.

Sweet Hunt is located in front the 3rd floor toy store at the Midtown Wing of Robinsons Place Manila.  It is near Wham Burger, which is the only place we go to on this wing, so it was not hard for me to find Sweet Hunt's location.

In the photo below, they have set up for the Halloween.  Menu board posted on the left and the cashier.

My ninja photo skill was obviously not working here.  T in HUNT was cutoff.

Okay well from where I was seated, I couldn't take a well-framed photo of the logo so I just used the handy app Instaframes.

The nice lady crew attending to us informed us that Honey Toast would be served after 15 minutes.  She also offered us a combo of Honey Toast plus a smoothie for Php270.  I took that offer and chose Mango Lover for my smoothie.

The smoothie size was fairly similar to Grande of Starbucks.

The presentation was very nice, and I felt I got my money's worth on this smoothie.  It has the base smoothie, mango ice cream on the center and then garnished with real mangoes.

The base smoothie was sour.  The ice cream was just the right sweet for ice cream.  The mangoes were the sweet mango I love.  This made me think that maybe they use a powder type of mixture for the smoothie base because it was not consistent with how the real mangoes tasted.  I love mangoes, and I can pretty much tell when the flavor is artificial and when real mangoes were used.  Heck, I make mango shakes at home.  I would know the taste of the sour ripe mango from the sweet ripe mango.  Okay 'nuff bragging about that.  The sourness was not a turn-off for me.  Actually, it got balanced when the ice cream melted.  My mom and I immediately ate the real mangoes and the ice cream while we waited for our Ferrero Honey Toast.

After 15 min or maybe more, I was not sure as we were enjoying the mango smoothie and watching the passersby (mostly cute kids - toy store, duh), came our order.

Served to me this way... not the right angle for the photo!

Turn me! Still not the best angle.

The sides were crunchy and real toasted so I soaked it in the ice cream and then the whipped crwam to soften it.  The center was soft like the fresh Gardenia bread.  It was not too sweet.  It was garnished with maybe 2 Ferrero Rocher chocolate, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, nuts and mint.

To give you the idea of the Honey Toast serving size, see photo below.  The bread was presliced into nine parts.

I think from what I can recall the Caffe Bene version of honey bread is slightly bigger.  I could be wrong on that though.

On the center of their decoration is a big bottle of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup that I wanna bring home.

I like discovering new place and feel some sort of satisfaction.  For those who like milk tea, Sweet Hunt also offers them.  I personally would not pay for a milk tea.  I prefer gourmet coffees for almost the same price point.  From my opinion, milk tea preparation is easier than latte preparation.  I had a firsthand experience on making espresso from my friend's machine.  It was even harder to steam milk for the first time - not to mention making latte art.  Okay, I'm blabbering now.  In short, I would rather buy a bottle of Silver Mojito tequila for roughly Php100-170 than buy milk tea.  Friends, I am not saying don't go out and buy milk tea.  Go ahead if you want to buy it, just don't make me pay for it.  LOL.

Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.  I will definitely go back to this place to have my Honey Toast fix.

Thank you for reading.

God bless and good luck.  (^_~)

UPDATE (August 2014):   Sweet Hunt closed down or maybe they moved (I'm not sure).  They are no longer in the previous location at Robinson's Place Ermita.  Just thought you guys should know.
