Driver's License Renewal
My license has been expired since last year. I had intentions on renewing it last quarter last year but learned of license card shortage. My brother renewed his license November 2014 but was only issued a temporary license because bo card was available. I think he got his license card by February 2015. Because of this I decided to wait until license cards are readily available.
Then came August 2015 when the govertment issued a statement that cards will be available on select LTO branches. I went to their San Andres branch since that's the closest to where I live and I know that only a few people go there unlike the Tayuman branch which is always jampacked. I got my student license in San Andres and my non-pro license in Tayuman, which are on opposite ends of the spectrum. My Tayuman experience was always exhausting. Transacting there takes up your whole day. So I swore off returning there again. Since then, I have had my license renewed at the licensing center in SM Manila for sheer convenience.
Anyway, here's a breakdown of my experience at San Andres LTO branch:
* Went straight to the information table to ask for form to fill out, but was told to first secure a medical certificate.
* Paid Php100 for medical cert. They only took my weight and asked me if I wear glasses.
* Went back to the information table. The personnel assigned there asked if I have any information to change. I told him none, and he just told me to take a seat and wait to be called. No forms to fill out!
* Was called at the data capture booth where they take your photo and signature.
* Waited again this time to be called at the cashier and pay the renewal fee.
* Waited for the last time to be called at the releasing booth where they gave me my new shiny driver's license card and receipt along with the old license card.
* I think it took me less than an hour completing all of these, and I got my card!
Thank you for reading.
God bless. (^_~)
