Early Bird Breakfast Club - Another Butterbeer Quest

Early Bird Breakfast Club
The Fort

We went here for the Butterbeer but were more satisfied by the other items we ordered.

My co-Potterhead friend found out about the Early Bird Breakfast Club Butterbeer from her friend.  So the Potterhead that we are, we have both tried the Starbucks recipe and then here we are trying out the other Butterbeer in the metro.

Here are other sneaky shots I took inside the resto.  That explains my nasty shots.  Also factor in that I was hungry.

Tenderloin Tapa
- Beef tenderloin in our sweet marinade, served with Breakfast Rice and your choice of egg.

My choice of egg was sunny side up with runny yolk.  The tapa was sweet and soft.  I loved it.  I also loved that they served it with vegetables.  Pangtanggal umay.  My first thought on the presentation was...it was kinda busy.  What should I do with the glass?  Should I eat the rice while on the glass?  Silly thoughts.

Lemon Butter Bangus
- Pan-seared bangus fillets with garlic lemon butter relish, served with Breakfast Rice and topped with a poached egg.

This was my friend's order.  She let me taste it, and I liked it actually.  Boneless bangus means no hassle.  The flavor was pretty good.  The presentation was the usual top this on top of that and on top of that.  Am I still making sense?

Smores in a Jar
- Toasted marshmallows in a chocolatey biscuit base.
I had high hopes for this; hence it was the most photographed in this post.  Well, it was okay.  I would say maybe it be better like making the base more chocolatey.  The base was a layer of something like a chocolate cake/brownie and another layer of crushed grahams.  We ate this when it was colder, and that might be a mistake on our part.  The marshmallow had become tough and sticky and tough and sticky and tough and sticky...hehe.  It stuck on the jar, it stuck on the knife, it stuck on the spoon and lastly, it stuck on the teeth.  On the mouth the marshmallow melted like when eating a cotton candy, but it still stuck.  I wished we just ordered a cheesecake.

Butterbeer
- no description

I would describe this as an odd drink.  Again, it has no butter and no beer.  Well, maybe it has butter in the form of caramel.  It is served cold.  The base was something like a carbonated drink.  The closest we can compare it with was 7UP.  It is topped with whipped cream, small marshmallows and a caramelized sugar sliver.  On the first sip using the dessert spoon, there was a zing.  On drinking from the mug, for me, it has a medicine taste.  "Okay, that was it?"

My final thoughts:
*Overall, nabusog ako.  Madami ang serving.
*The plates were big, and I wasn't sure if all our orders would fit on the table, but they did. :)
*The service was good.  Although, we cannot connect to the wifi.  We asked two different servers about the password.  They said the same thing, but we really could not get through so we gave up.  No instant Instagram for this one and no Facebook check in.
*The Smores was a bit of a let down.  The base was dry.  I wanted more chocolate or even real chocolate bits.
*The Butterbeer was just something to try... for experience lang.  It is not something I would reorder if ever I get to dine there again.
*Price point, I think it was a bit pricey.  Well maybe because the other stuff we ordered were not sulit for me.

 Thank you for reading.

God bless. (^_~)
